This is an excellent unissued example of a Pattern 1944 United States Marine Corps Camouflage Utility Shirt. This cotton HBT (Herring Bone Twill) Camouflage pattern shirt was issued to Marines at the end of WWII and during the Korean War. This pattern was seen as an improvement over the one piece "jungle" coveralls, which lacking a drop seat, made "relieving yourself" difficult in combat situations. However, the
